There are many different ones,e.g. ego = negative thinking and emotions. An other definition is everything, that relates to the lower body-mind.
To me the ultimate and most comprehensive definition of the ego is to equate it with the totality of the mind itself, whether high or low, positive or negative, good or evil.
Much love!Ute Shan'A'Maa https://www.blogger.com/profile/11598384358797944684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8562487883422546310.post-29176030682864421082012-05-11T18:42:22.275+10:002012-05-11T18:42:22.275+10:00An enlightened master thousands of years ago once ...An enlightened master thousands of years ago once taught "believe nothing"... And is it not True that it is not about doing or a job, but as a result of our shift from the conceptual to the "Perceptual", about being?

One other question for you Ute... Within some teachings and traditions (like Zen), they speak of the death or elimination of ego all together. While other cultures speak more of it being present yet balanced and in service to the Divine. This can be confusing at times.

Love the energetics of this sharing... It is felt at a very deep and sacred level.
<3,
ShravakaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8562487883422546310.post-71230523216413115092012-05-11T11:36:43.948+10:002012-05-11T11:36:43.948+10:00Ahhh, yes! I do agree that the soul is higher consciousness and the mind is limited consciousness, and our "job" is to raise our consciousness by connecting with our higher self and following through with our inner guidance (The Experiencing). I use this "practical" language because I am clear that making changes in line with our higher self is of utmost importance. This can only be felt. It is greater than the mind, which you also could call the "ego".
Blessings!Ute Shan'A'Maa https://www.blogger.com/profile/11598384358797944684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8562487883422546310.post-24477662177549639142012-05-11T09:42:29.000+10:002012-05-11T09:42:29.000+10:00So basically, we are being asked to question our b...So basically, we are being asked to question our beliefs and to see what is true and what is false. Instead of believing what we were taught, we are asked to look deep within, to separate our cultural conditioning from our own truth (what feels to be our truth, but isn't necessarily manifest yet). And then--very important--to integrate that truth by living it. For if we integrate our truth and find freedom, happiness, new insights, or favorable synchronicities, then we will know our truth without a doubt and be stronger and stronger in it!Christine Hoeflichhttp://christinehoeflich.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8562487883422546310.post-70455349624231411442012-05-10T04:57:24.913+10:002012-05-10T04:57:24.913+10:00Thank You for the flow of Love and motivation to k...Thank You for the flow of Love and motivation to keep on~keepin' on!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
